As a mutual thrift, the bank’s deposit account holders are members of the bank and have voting rights at the bank’s annual meeting. We’re an equal opportunity employer with three convenient offices, two in Alamosa and one office in Monte Vista, Colorado. We have been providing banking services to residents of Colorado’s San Luis Valley since 1899. We presently accept deposits only from residents of the San Luis Valley and offer loan services only in the six counties of the San Luis Valley.

Our Community Support Programs

We Care, We Share:

We Care, We Share is an employee directed donation program that San Luis Valley Federal Bank started back in May 2015. Since the program’s beginning, a total of $60,000 has been given back to our community! Each SLVFB employee selects a local SLV non-profit to receive a contribution of $250 as part of the Bank’s community investment program. The 2018 program contributed to 47 non-profits for a total of $15,000. The purpose of the program is to give the Bank’s employees a better understanding of the Valley’s community organizations. Donations are made to local SLV organizations like Alamosa High School Wrestling, SLV Ambulance departments, Tu Casa Children’s Advocacy Center, and Kid’s Place to name a few. Through this program, the Bank encourages their employees to connect with and build relationships with the non-profits of their choosing. San Luis Valley Federal Bank appreciates the hard work these non-profit organizations do for our community. By supporting these local organizations, SLVFB hopes to help our community grow and prosper. While similar in design, this program is separate from our Spirit of Giving program.

Spirit of Giving:

Each year SLVFB sets aside $30,000 to be split amongst all of our customer’s favorite non-profit organizations within the San Luis Valley. Each account that a member has with SLVFB will count as one vote. The more votes a non-profit receives, the larger their share of donation will be. The Spirit of Giving program started in 1999 allowing the SLVFB’s members to cast one vote per account to designate a share of the funds to be donated to their favorite SLV community non-profit organization. From Thanksgiving to Christmas votes will be collected. We strongly believe in this program and cherish the participation that it brings to our community. It is inspiring to see our customers vote and cheer on their favorite non-profit organization.
