Alamosa Parks and Recreation and Adams State Adventure Programs are partnering to bring the San Luis Valley the first annual “Valley Bottom Rio Trio”; an adventure-style triathlon race within the City of Alamosa! The race will feature an 8-mile trail bike ride, a 3-mile paddle on the Rio Grande, and a 5k run. Participants will be given the option of doing all three legs of the race solo, or as a part of a 3-person relay team. The race will be chip-timed. Bring your own boat or rent a kayak, SUP, or canoe from us! The inaugural race will take place on the morning of Saturday, June 12th! An outdoor awards ceremony, lunch made from local ingredients, and local beer libations will take place following the race. A kid's mini race and kid's activities will take place at the race start/finish area.
