Fishing for the Mission 22 Inc
Fishing for the Mission 22 is a nonprofit organization based in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, with chapters nationwide, including our newest location in the Alamosa region of Colorado. We are dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty personnel, first responders, and their families. Our offerings include therapeutic fishing outings through the Common Ground 22 Connect program, vocational marine and workforce development mentorship via Operation Tackle 22, and licensed behavioral services through our subsidiary, First Line Wellness Group, which provides professional care for these individuals and their families. Additionally, we offer hardship and transitional grants through our Safe Harbor Grant initiative, along with several other programs currently in development.
Our primary mission is to advocate for preventative measures against the alarming suicide rate among our nation's heroes. Tragically, we lose over 22 veterans to suicide each day, underscoring a public health crisis that demands urgent attention. Through our programs, we have seen profound and positive changes in the lives of those we serve.
